Life savers

I lost the key to my rooftop carrier on the way back from vacation. A bunch of stuff was still stuck inside.

I called a couple different places, and everyone said they can only do it by damaging the lock.

These guys were honest with me that it was not likely that they could open it without a key or lock number but they would give it a shot!

Well they were successful at not just unlocking it for me, but they were able to figure out the lock number and make a key for it as well!

Thanks yall, you made my week a lot easier and saved me a lot of frustration with this lock.

They did not corn it up

To Jesse, Deni, Andy, and Tyler: Every single one of you are more than masters of your craft, and it shows. I came to you twice because no other locksmith in the city would even attempt to help, and you each went above and beyond both times. Each time I have been here I was greeted with care and greeted by name, just like an old friend. Thank you.

Each of the aforementioned experts above were able to do the impossible - twice. My first contact was around eight months ago, when I had lost the only key to one of my bikes, a CTX700. If you ride, you know the nightmare that comes with finding locksmith services for a motorcycle, especially the ignition. Jesse and Andy mentioned that finding the key code for the cylinder could work; normally, the dealership will have this, but mine was bought pre-owned and the dealer never had records of the key code. I was able to pick the lock to my gas cap, but was dismayed as the embossed code itself was so worn it was not legible, so I brought the whole cap with me.

Jesse was the first to greet me with friendliness and professionalism, and was able to pretty much reverse-pick the lock and then manually cut me a new key with such precision it worked better than the original. No more jiggling and struggling to turn!

The second time, just a week ago, I came by with a different motorcycle, a ZZR1200. The key has really odd bitting and is so thin in the center that I snapped two originals in the lock and was on the last one. This is a very worn, uncommon, 23-year old key, mind you, and it was nigh impossible to cut a new one based on the original because of its condition and without the key code. Deni and Andy said they did not have the correct key blank at the time, but Deni somehow cut me a working key for the seat lock and gas cap with a different but similar blank on hand. They ordered the correct key blank for the ignition, no questions asked, and it arrived within three days. Upon my return, Tyler cut me multiple new copies, which, surprise surprise, work better than the original, again.

Every visit was educational and fun. I had never imagined in a million years that I would look forward to, or even have fun, at a locksmith shop, but I did- and learned something new from each locksmith, each time.

Thank you Jesse, for your expertise with programming my fob and cutting my key to the 2016 Mazda CX5! I had a hard time finding this place but it was worth my trip from Chester! Fast, friendly and knowledgable! Even got a military discount! I will definitely recommend to my friends and family.

I have a 2009 Honda CR-V that I bought brand new in July of 2009. One of my keys' plastic shells broke and the other one had loosened considerably.... needless to say, my keys were on their last legs. I called American Lock & Key and spoke with Denise. She asked me the year, make & model of my vehicle and gave me a quick quote over the phone. I asked some clarifying questions and found that not only did it not take more than about 30 minutes to complete, but that it wasn't that busy at the time and I could come over now without an appointment. I hung up and jumped in the car to head over. I was greeted by Jesse at the door who reiterated what I had heard on the phone. I provided the uncut keys I had purchased online and he had them cut, programmed and ready for me in about 20 minutes. He even made sure my broken key was functional. Now I have two new keys and two backups. AMAZING!!
Without a doubt I'd recommend this company. They are easy to do business with and are clear about their costs and time frames.

Denise was a pleasure to deal with on the phone, she set up an appointment to have a door lock repaired and Tyler (the technician) was great, prompt, knew exactly how to fix the problem, went straight to work repairing the lock, friendly, etc...
